Congressman Blake Moore's Funding Requests Included & Passed in the Interior, Environment, & Related Agencies Appropriations Bill for FY 2024

WASHINGTON – Several of Congressman Blake Moore’s funding requests were included and passed in H.R. 4821, the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2024. These priorities include:

  • Funding to continue implementing Congressman Moore’s MAPLand Act and the Saline Lake Ecosystems in the Great Basin States Program Act, which will respectively enhance outdoor recreation in Utah and help save the Great Salt Lake;
  • $2 million for Clinton City to construct roadway infrastructure improvements to enhance safety;
  • Full funding for Payment in Lieu of Taxes, which provides funding for public safety, housing, social services, and transportation for rural counties that contain nontaxable Federal lands;
  • Continuing the shared stewardship strategy, which enhances federal-state collaboration in land management; and
  • Funding to address critical wildfire risks throughout Utah.

“I am pleased that my amendments to fully fund efforts to enhance outdoor recreation and help save the Great Salt Lake—as authorized by my MAPLand and Saline Lake Ecosystems in the Great Basin States Program Act—passed the House, along with several other of my top priorities,” said Congressman Blake Moore. “These are great wins for Utah, recreation, responsible governance, and better land management. I remain hopeful that the Senate will prioritize these bipartisan efforts as well.”

The Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill for FY24 curbs wasteful federal spending, prioritizes public safety and maintenance projects, and streamlines inefficient bureaucratic processes to promote more effective governing.
